She is taking Lysodren. She just took her 5th dose today and no major adverse reactions yet. I want to help nutrition suggestions and any other treatments. She eats a wheat free,no gluten dog food and we give her fresh dark green veggies and some fruit. I’m looking for healthy suggestions.
Oh, goodness. Cushings is such a tricky disease. At the vet clinic where I work, we had a dog diagnosed with it just this afternoon- it can be tricky to recognize because of all the factors that go into making a correct diagnosis. The one thing I will tell you is to stick to the diet your vet puts you on. I don’t know if you’ve double checked with your vet about the veggies and fruit, but be careful. Even the slightest deviation from the recommended diet can be really harmful. Lysodren is usually a great medication- our vets prescribe it for Cushings and they see great results usually. My heart goes out to you and your family- I know this can be really frustrating. I hope everything goes well for you.
