Risotteria is a bit on the pricy side, but aren’t we GF consumers used to that by now? Located in Manhattan, specifically, the beautiful Greenwich Village, this quaint restaurant is a great stop for lunch or dinner. The service is slow, but everyone is friendly and you can count on sincere concern regarding all your dietary needs. Most of the dishes have cheese, and lots of it, so be careful if you are even slightly lactose intolerant. For 3$ less, your friends can order ‘normal’ food, but encourage them to try the GF versions of pizza, risotto, Caesar salad, breadsticks and panini. My personal favorite is the shrimp and gruyere pizza; I’ve never tasted anything so GF and delicious before! Risotteria offers an impressive selection of gluten free beers, sodas and wines. The desserts are also expensive, but out of this world. From carrot cake, to giant chocolate chip cookie sandwiches, to pies, you can’t go wrong. Finally, you are even given the option to do your grocery shopping right in the restaurant. If you enjoyed the breadsticks or pizza, take some dough home! You can buy just about anything you ordered in take home form (dough, mix, frozen etc.).
